Bungou Stray Dogs Season 4 [Anime Review]

Bungou Stray Canines Season 4 [Anime Review]

We were about to lose hope that we would ever get to see the Armed Detective Agency, Port Mafia, and the whole ensemble of Bungou Stray Dogs again until Bones Studios announced the release of season four!

Bungou Stray Dogs, which is based on the manga of the same name, tells the story of the Gifted, an exclusive group of individuals with unique skills. The Armed Detective Agency is the name given to them. The Armed Detective Agency believed that Foyoder’s capture was their final sighting of him and the Rats. They had no idea that Foyoder was a member of the Decay of Angels, an even more hazardous group. The Armed Detective Agency has to figure out a means to live, establish their innocence, and thwart the Decay of Angels from their scheme after being falsely accused of being a public enemy.

Bungou Stray Dogs’ fourth season has been intriguing. The Armed Detective Agency and the new adversary organization, the Decary of Angels, had a lot going on this season, and we can’t help but worry what will happen next.

The Armed Detective Agency was in a race against time in this season of Bungou Stray Dogs, which had a more somber tone than the previous ones. More somber than in any previous season, with each episode adding depth to the narrative. As in past seasons, there are still some humorous moments; in fact, having them in between makes for a nice diversion and keeps things interesting and pleasurable. Sadly, this season lacked many of those amusing moments.

The fact that the series’ tone has shifted to a more serious one indicates that we are at a crucial portion of the narrative, even if there aren’t many humorous moments this season. We are unsure whether we are approaching a pivotal moment or the story’s major climax. As things stand right now, however, the series is still entertaining to watch despite the change in tone.

The Armed Detective Agency used their talents and powers to attempt to solve crimes and defeat their foes in previous seasons of Bungou Stray Dogs. Even when they manage to overcome their adversaries and unravel the mysteries behind their case, it often takes the whole season to complete. We were mistaken to believe that this season would be the same.

The longest case the Armed Detective Agency has to handle is the one from this season. This season was full of surprises, some of which we weren’t prepared for or anticipated. They startled us by adding an unexpected twist to the mystery when we anticipated them to do one thing, and vice versa. Just when we believed they had solved the riddle, they added additional pieces. For the most part, this is due to Foyoder, who functions as a second Dazai. Because of that, a lot of things continued to occur, leaving us to question whether the Armed Detective Agency or the Decay of Angels was winning.

The conflict between the Decay of Angels and the Armed Detective Agency is the major focus of this season. Indeed, there are government agents like the Port Mafia and the Hunting Dogs, but the conflict is between the Detective Agency and the Decay of Angels. In other cases, it was even clear that parts of the character’s behaviors had been preplanned. It is up to Dazai to decipher Foyoder’s strategy since this indicates that the one who is ahead of the other wins the conflict as a whole. Even once the season is over, this raises one question: just how does Foyoder interact with the other members of Decay of Angels?

Not until the next season or two will we know. We do know that this will likely need one or two more seasons—the first of which will be dedicated to the actual series.

Bungou Stray Dogs’ fourth season was full with secrets and shocks. The conflict between the Decay of Angels and the Armed Detective Agency intensifies as the narrative develops. Unlike prior Bungou Stray Dogs seasons, we didn’t anticipate this to endure more than one. Given that this series typically takes a year or two to develop, it seems sense that they have already announced a fifth season, which will premiere this summer. The issue at hand is: Who will prevail? Perhaps this summer will have to pass before we find out.
