Gran Turismo 7 On-line Time Trial: Two’s Corporate
A taste of a classic Gran Turismo combo has been added to the worldwide lap time competition with the release of the most recent event in Gran Turismo 7’s Online Time Trial challenges.
Online Time Trials are timed hot-lap events that take place in the Sport Mode of the game. As there isn’t any direct head-to-head gaming, a PlayStation Plus membership isn’t required to participate. Every Thursday, there is a new event that lasts for two weeks.
Earning credits with these time trials is also a smart idea. After the entry period ends, you will receive a reward based on how distant you are from the world record time. The maximum prize is 2,000,000cr for finishing within 3% of the final world record time; smaller rewards are awarded for finishing within 5% or 10% of the time. Naturally, this implies that there is no set time limit for prize eligibility, as the quickest players in the globe will always increase the top time.
This week’s challenge is all about speed: you’ll be maneuvering some of the fastest cars in the world around Fuji Speedway, a track that has one of the longest straights in motorsport.
You will be racing at the “short” layout of the circuit for this week’s event, which reduces the course length by 50 yards by turning the Dunlop Chicane into a single, surprisingly fast right-hander.
This week, you have even more options for automobiles because you can choose any Gr. 2 vehicle. There are presently nine cars in the group: the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail, Mercedes CLK-LM, Audi RS5 DTM car that was added back in March, three Super GT cars from 2016, three Super GT cars from 2008.
It appears that the 2016 Honda NSX Concept-GT is the best option, however you’ll need to wear Racing Medium tires for the event. Of course, you have the option to borrow a car to save the 800,000cr purchase price or to maintain the mileage on your garage automobile.
Only a few hours have passed, and the top times currently hover around mid-1:26s, with a low of 1:29. That should easily cut into the 1:28s by the time the time trial is over.
The Lap Time Challenge at Deep Forest Raceway, which started last week, is still open until Thursday of next week. The current world record for the time trial is 1:43.863, therefore Gold needs to finish in 1:46.978 or under, though he may still drop a few tenths.
To gain entry to the Online Time Trials, you must first unlock Sport Mode in the GT Cafe single player hub by finishing Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”). There is no need for PlayStation Plus because these aren’t multiplayer events.
Every Thursday, the events are updated. The eldest of the two events is swapped out every week, and each challenge is available for two weeks. In light of this, the next Time Trial is scheduled to begin on Thursday, December 28, at 0700 UTC.
