Film opens in Japan in early winter
The lyric video for “Starlight Challenge,” the theme song for the upcoming anime film the Pole Princess!! pole dancing franchise debuted on Friday on the official website of Avex Pictures and Tatsunoko Productions’ original Pole Princess!! pole dance anime. Animation is featured in the video.
The film will open in early winter 2023.
The first five-minute net anime episode was published on YouTube by the anime’s creators on January 13 after the prologue episode 0 aired on December 23. There are presently seven episodes of the anime.
The protagonist of the tale is Hinano, a mild-mannered and quite typical 17-year-old girl. Hinano had liked visiting the planetarium her grandmother ran since she was a tiny child, but one day she learned that the planetarium would be closed. Hinano was concerned about what she could do to help her grandma and the planetarium until, by chance, she happens to see a woman dancing on a pole under a starry sky one day. She collects her pals, and the group erects a stage for performances in the planetarium. They then dive into the world of pole dancing.
Avex Pictures and Tatsunoko Pro are listed as the work’s original anime stars. The animation at Tatsunoko Pro is being directed by Hitomi Ezoe (episode director for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure franchise, Kageki Shoujo!! Utano-Princesama Revolutions). The screenplays are being written by Touko Machida (Wake Up, Girls! Show By Rock!! ), and Tomari is in charge of creating the original character designs. The CG director is Yoshihiro Otobe (PriPara, KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm). The music is being created at Avex Pictures by Kenta Higashiohji (BUILD-DIVIDE -#000000- CODE BLACK, Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle). The pole dance manager is KAORI of STUDIO TRANSFORM.
