Introducing GTPlanet Downloads: Rapid, Loose Report Internet hosting for Racing Recreation Mods
One subject in particular has consistently surfaced during the lengthy discussion about Assetto Corsa, one of the most played games on the GTPlanet Forums. The General Discussion thread for Assetto Corsa PC Mods is one of the busiest in our community, with over 30 million views and 123,000 messages in just one month.
It is still growing and becoming a valuable resource for the Assetto Corsa community. Since players have discovered how to add unique cars, tracks, and features to the PC version of the game, it has developed into a veritable sandbox.
It can be difficult to find a place to host these updates, though, because they can be big files. File hosting websites often need you to complete a series of steps before a download will begin, or they are infamously slow and unreliable. We frequently see this issue in our own community because links break and files expire.
I’m happy to announce the debut of GTPlanet Downloads, a new platform that will enable sharing and downloading PC game mods easier than ever, in an effort to help solve the issue. Here are some salient points:
- Free, unlimited file hosting: There are no download limits or fees for extra features.
- Public downloads: No registration required! Downloads are available to everyone — just share a link to your file and they can download it even if they do not have a GTPlanet account.
- 10GB file sizes: Host even the largest game mod files!
- High-speed downloads: Our files are hosted on enterprise-grade servers with multi-gigabit connectivity for users around the world.
The GTPlanet Forums and the download system are completely connected, offering user evaluations, file versioning and updates, and topic-specific discussion threads.
During the platform’s open beta testing period, more than 200 mods have already been submitted and downloaded tens of thousands of times. I want to personally thank each and every one of you who got in touch with me during the development process with suggestions and bug reports.
Although Assetto Corsa is undoubtedly the most widely used modding platform in our community, we hope to eventually host mods for additional PC games as well. Kindly let us know what games you believe we should support next in the comments section!
